On the eve of the showdown between House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) and FBI Director Christopher Wray for possible Congressional Contempt charges for FBI not turning over a FD-1023 document that alleges Joe Biden was involved in a $5 million bribe with a Ukrainian business leader is now coming to a head.

The FBI caved late Wednesday to congressional pressure on the eve of the future contempt vote against FBI Director Christopher Wray on Thursday.

The FBI has agreed to let all members of the House Oversight Committee see the informant’s memo alleging Joe Biden was involved in a $5 million bribery scheme with supported documents. 

“Americans have lost trust in the FBI’s ability to enforce the law impartially and demand answers, transparency, and accountability,” said Congressman James  Comer (R-KY), Chairman of the Oversight Committee.

“Allowing all Oversight Committee members to review this record is an important step toward conducting oversight of the FBI and holding it accountable to the American people,” said Comer.

At issue is a document known as an FD-1023 containing allegations from a confidential informant in June 2020 and as early as 2017 and a couple of times in between that then Vice President Joe Biden under President Obama traded US policy for money for Joe Biden’s family. 

The committee now will also be able to see two earlier documents from the same informant related to the allegation.
