In one of the more twisted public posturing by an indicted man, Hunter Biden showed up on Capitol Hill Wednesday to answer a House Oversight and Accountability Committee subpoena.
The purpose of the committee’s subpoena was to depose Hunter Biden behind closed doors, a process that witness do first before open testimony.
Biden through his lawyer, Abbe Lowell, had told the committee Hunter Biden was not going to attend that private deposition, and stated that he would be willing to testify in public only.
Committee leadership rejected that offer, and announced that they would hold Biden in contempt of Congress if he did not show up.
So, the president’s son showed up and before entering the Capitol held his own short press conference outside.
Hunter Biden defiantly lashed out and blamed republicans and the “unrelenting Trump attack machine.”
“I’m here today to acknowledge that I’ve made mistakes in my life and wasted opportunities and privileges I was afforded. For that, I’m responsible for that. I’m accountable,” Hunter Biden said. “And for that, I’m making amends.”
In a twisted pivot, he blamed his legal woes, sexual perversion and addiction on politics seemingly to garner public sympathy. He played the victimization card full throttle.
“But I’m also here today to correct how the MAGA right has betrayed me for their political purposes,” he stated. “I am first and foremost a son, a father, a brother, and a husband from a loving and supportive family. I’m proud to have earned degrees from Georgetown University and Yale Law School. I’m proud of my legal career and business career. I’m proud of my time serving on a dozen different boards of directors, and I’m proud of my efforts to forge global business relationships.”
“For six years. MAGA Republicans, including members of the House committees who are in a closed door session right now, have impugned my character, invaded my privacy, attacked my wife, my children, my family and my friends,” Biden stated with distain. “They have ridiculed my struggle with addiction. They belittled my recovery and they have tried to dehumanize me all to embarrass and damage my father, who has devoted his entire public life to service.”
“For six years. I have been a target of the unrelenting Trump attack machine shouting Where’s Hunter? Well, here’s my answer. I am here. Let me state as clearly as I can. My father was not financially involved in my business, not as a practicing lawyer, not as a board member of Burisma, not in my partnership with a Chinese private businessman, not in my investments at home nor abroad, and certainly not as an artist,” he added.
He then attacked the House Oversight Committee.
“They have no shame. These same committee chairmen have engaged in unprecedented political interference in what would have already been a five-year investigation of me.”
“Yet here I am, Mr. Chairman, taking up your offer when you said we can bring these people in for depositions or committee hearings, whichever they choose,” he concluded. “Well, I’ve chosen I am here to testify at a public hearing today to answer any of the committee’s legitimate questions. Republicans do not want an open process where Americans can see their tactics, expose their baseless inquiry, or hear what I have to say. What are they afraid of? I’m here. I’m ready.”
This follows his lawyers’ strategy of attacking those who have testified publicly and privately about the Biden family - from his former business partners, Devon Archer and Tony Bobulinski to John Mac Isaacs, who turned over Hunter Biden’s laptop to the FBI after Hunter failed to pay a bill for less than a hundred dollars to fix the computer that he dropped off at the Delaware computer store.
Abbe Lowell has recently demanded a criminal probe into Bobulinski in November.
Earlier in March, Hunter Biden filed a counterclaim of invastion of privacy against John Mac Isaacs.
It was Hunter Biden who took a slew of naked selfies with numerous women in compromising positions.
The family communications on the laptop even allege Hunter Biden’s inappropriate behavior with a younger family member. And, when Hunter was accused of that by his sister-in-law, Hallie Biden, whom he had an affair with after his brother died and while Hunter was still married, his Uncle Jim Biden then attacked Hallie in an email.
It is a Joe Biden political colleague, U.S. Secretary Antony Blinken, who willfully orchestrated a letter signed by 51 former intelligence operatives in late 2020 claiming the laptop was Russian disinformation even though the FBI had been in possession of it since December 2019.
That revelation was a result of former Deputy of the CIA Mike Morrell's testimony before the Committee.
That letter was later cited by President Joe Biden during a presidential debate with former Donald Trump.
"There are 50 former national intelliegence folks who said that what he's accusing me of is a Russian plant," Joe Biden said during the debate.
It was Hunter Biden who was marked by IRS whistleblowers for financial improprieties and law enforcement stonewalling.
It was Hunter Biden who paid women to go across state lines for sex.
It was Hunter Biden whom prosecutors found to have spent $872,000 on sex, porn clubs, and drugs as revealed in Hunter's latest indictment just days ago.
It was Hunter Biden who for months denied that the laptop was his and in the end, admitted otherwise when he filed the lawsuit against John Mac Issacs for invasion of privacy.
It was the Bidens political camp, who led the American public to believe that there was nothing nefarious in Hunter Biden’s foreign business deals and that Joe Biden did not have any association with Hunter Biden’s business partners.
The laptop evidence clearly raises questions as it contains multiple communications between those in the Obama administration, where Joe Biden served as vice-president and Hunter’s business colleagues and multiple pictures of Joe Biden with Hunter’s foreign business partners at Cafe Milano restaurant in Georgetown.
It was Hunter Biden who accompanied Vice-President Joe Biden on foreign trips to China when Hunter Biden met with business leaders.
It was Hunter Biden and his business colleagues, who arranged the dinners with Joe Biden.
It was then Vice-President Joe Biden who called Hunter Biden while his son was in meetings with his business colleagues, and even dropped by at the Four Seasons hotel during one of Hunter Biden’s business meetings in Washington, D.C.
While the son of the president now has pivoted on his legal strategy by attacking those who have testified and come forward, Hunter Biden on Wednesday proved at his press conference that he has drawn a line in the sand even with Congress.
