Commemorating NATO's 75th anniversary alliance in Washington, D.C. this week, President Joe Biden will be hosting 31 other NATO leaders who have a voice in decision-making, plus some officials from Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea to discuss the Indo-Pacific situation.

Biden is under his own self-induced pressure to silence his critics after his disastrous presidential debate with Trump and his feckless ABC interview less than a week ago to salvage his frozen debate performance.

He sent a letter Monday addressed to “Fellow Democrats,” ordering them to move on because he has made his decision and refuses to drop out.

The president thinks he is “the” chosen one to beat Trump, but is that a reality check for the plight facing Americans.

Will the NATO meeting bring more attention to the comparison with NATO and the dangerous domestic policy on American soli?

The truth is NATO is fragile. Any policies agreed upon must be unanimous and now with populist movement growth within certain NATO countries, all is not well on the horizon.

The French left did not win a majority in parliament. Hungary and Turkey were the last two NATO members to hold out on Finland and Sweden joining NATO. Hungary’s Viktor Urban traveled to Russia last week to meet with Putin.

Outgoing NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg noted last Friday that the baseline moving ahead should be roughly $43 billion per year.

“At the summit we will make decisions to further strengthen our support for Ukraine, and the Russians understand that they will not be able to wait us out,” the NATO chief said. “They need to sit down and accept a solution where Ukraine remains a sovereign nation.”

For the third year in a row, leaders or top officials from Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea will attend the NATO summit for discussions on how to deal with Chinese threats in the South China Sea and beyond.

But, if Joe Biden thinks the NATO discussions will supersede American’s domestic concerns, it seems implausible after the presidential debate because that debate - no matter what the NATO Summit produces - does not overshadow the domestic picture. It only raises more questions as Biden grinds his teeth to continue his quest for re-election.

Biden's own disastrous economic record using American’s taxpayers dollars to fund the Ukraine proxy war to oust Putin while U.S. food bread basket prices are still inflated and families are forced to make trade-offs on gas, rent, mortgages, food and other essentials is something that foreign policy cannot wipe off American kitchen tables. Most Americans do not have $1,000 in arrears for emergencies.

Perhaps, because of his cognitive dissonance the president does not fully comprehend that white, black, hispanic and asian Americans in urban and rural areas are witnessing the costs of illegals across America are straining state and local social services' coffers.

Perhaps, President Biden does not recognize nearly 70% of Americans blame him for the ten million plus illegal immigrants crossing the U.S. southern border and that during the debate he lost ground when Biden claimed that there were 40% less illegal immigrants entering the U.S. during his term than during Trump’s.

Obviously, those facts were not hammered into Biden during his debate prep, but then again during his ABC News interview when asked if he had reviewed his debate footage, the president paused, and then, he said that he “did not think so.” That should have been a yes or no answer.

The reason for the interview with ABC News was about his lackluster debate performance.

We are at this pivotal point in history where Biden may use the NATO alliance summit to boaster the continuation of his presidential campaign even though many donors and politicians are calling for him to drop out and pass the baton.

It would be logical to presume that the president may not change his mind when all eyes are on him and his engagement with the NATO allies during the next three-day summit.

The list of Democrats wanting Biden to step aside could grow this week and the juxtaposition between them and NATO alliance members could be the face-off of the public relations card that Biden hopes to play.

How he plays it may sink Biden’s ship and tank his stock, or not.

The tug of war between NATO Heads of State versus democrats calling for his him to step aside could be startling but it won’t be a first of Biden to play a card like this.

He used some of the Kennedy clan for his own political viability to pit them against their own brother, RFK, Jr., who is running as an independent presidential campaign.

President Biden is expected to host a press conference with the media at the conclusion of the NATO summit. The public will be watching to see if he is scripted or actually engaging with the media and takes questions.

All eyes should be on those journalists who ask questions because over the weekend we have learned that the Biden campaign gave questions to a radio station journalist that was interviewing Biden. That violates journalistic ethics and everyone in the Biden administration knows that.

This is serious business when there are foreign threats and domestic instability internally in this country.

Is the Commander-in-Chief ready for a national security crises or is he a puppet on a stage with some shadow ventriloquist pulling his strings?

Most of the summit proceeding will occur behind closed doors. The president is scheduled to meet one-on-one with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who is clamoring about wanting to join NATO.  He will meet newly-elected British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who took power as  result of the UK elections last week.

The president and first lady Jill Biden will open the summit on Tuesday evening at a commemorative event at Mellon Auditorium, where the North Atlantic Treaty establishing NATO was signed on April 4, 1949. Biden will address NATO allies publicly on Wednesday afternoon and hold a dinner that night for leaders and their spouses. His agenda on Thursday includes a gathering of the NATO-Ukraine Council and an event with nearly two dozen nations that have signed individual security agreements with Ukraine. He'll cap the summit off with his news conference.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, has stated before the presidential debate that Biden is "someone who is very clear, who knows exactly what he is doing and who is one of the most experienced politicians in the world."

But Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski disagreed with that statement after the CNN presidential debate.

"Marcus Aurelius was a great emperor but he screwed up his succession by passing the baton to his feckless son Commodus (He, from the Gladiator). Whose disastrous rule started Rome's decline," Sikorski wrote. "It's important to manage one's ride into the sunset."

Biden has used previous appearances at international events to make a forceful case for American democracy, a key theme of his reelection campaign.

The Council of Foreign Relations (CFR) has listed 28 conflicts across the globe - 23 are in Africa and Asia, four in the Americas, and one in Europe. The Mexican government is waging against drug cartels and the instability in Haiti.

The reality check is that all is not well in America or across the globe under Biden's watch.
