The CD Media team is enjoying CPAC. I thought it might be useful to share some of the facts, ideas, and sound bites from CPAC 2020 sessions today. In the case that I don't record a direct quote with quotation marks, it's because I'm not the fastest typist. I do vouch for the spirit of what the speaker said. There's a lot of news out there, here are some talking points:

The term "woke" was coined by singer Erykah Badu in 2008. It's a language of code words with a purpose:
"It's a way to persecute people who speak normally."
    --Jon Miller, Blaze TV

The Trump 2016 campaign utilized 600,000 trained volunteers. Trump 2020 will have 2 million.
    --Brad Parscale

Biggest reaction so far this morning: standing ovation for Kimberly Guilfoyle: "We are going to rip the gavel out of Nancy Pelosi's hand!"

"Delete Tik Tok now." (It's a Chinese spying device)
    --James Carafano, Heritage Foundation

The Dept. of Transportion is one of the top agencies in deregulation, 63 deregulations in three years.
    --Elaine Chao

Trump has helped us reach the lowest levels of unemployment--due to deregulation.
    --U.S. Labor Sec Eugene Scalia

Stats: 7 million jobs created under Trump. 6 million Americans off of food stamps. Veteran unemployment lowest in 20 years. Deregulations have saved taxpayers $33 billion. --Kimberly Guilfoyle

Time to call out the left. "You're no longer the silent majority. You're the un-silent majority."
    Brandon Straka, #WalkAway Campaign

Bernie Sanders is changing the idea of freedom. In his ads, he has young actors ask, "Am I free?" The ads then frame "freedom" as the state of economic freedom--freedom from student debt, freedom from "dead-end jobs just to get healthcare."
--Morgan Zegers, Young Americans Against Socialism
