After Joe Biden chose Kamala Harris as his running mate, the historical moment highlighted a figure the left chooses to forget about: Sarah Palin.  Palin, who was the second woman in history to be on a presidential ticket, gave some strong advice to Harris ahead of her campaign.  As a result, Palin has been on the media circuit to give her two cents, and the president has come to her defense over how she was treated by the McCain campaign.

In an interview with Tucker Carlson, Palin said there was one person on the campaign who “was never on their side to begin with.” She is talking about Steve Schmidt, McCain’s campaign director who is credited for finding Palin to be McCain’s running mate in the first place.  Schmidt has gone on to be a strong anti-Trump voice, continuously appearing on Nicole Wallace’s MSNBC show and starting the Lincoln Project, which is supposed to be an anti-Trump group for Republicans.  Palin said about Schmidt and his team, “They jumped ship early in terms of their enthusiasm for the Republicans being elected that year in '08 and that’s evident by what they're doing today.”

Schmidt has endorsed Joe Biden. Carlson, who didn’t originally want to single Schmidt out, was given the okay by Palin, who said that while Schmidt, Wallace, and a couple other “wahoos,” were running the campaign and may have not even voted for the ticket.  She said “to think they were the ones setting up the interviews, there was a lot of sabotage going on there.” Palin said “just look at where they are today.”

President Trump, who faces a similar situation as Palin within his own party, was quick to defend Palin.  On Twitter, Trump wrote, “Sarah is correct. McCain was a lousy candidate with lots of bad policy, but the “deadheads” sabotaged his campaign from the inside, and never gave him a chance to win. Hope they were happy with OBiden, who gave you me!”
