President Trump is racking up the coveted Nobel Peace Prize nomination. With a little over a month until the election, President Trump has gained global attention for his involvement with foreign conflicts, and his ability to foster peace through bringing both parties to the negotiation table.
The Art of the Deal businessman has played a crucial role in bringing peace to the Middle East, particularly through establishing a formal relation with Israel and UAE, and Israel and Bahrain. Trump also provided a platform for Serbia and Kosovo to normalize economic relations, which both countries have said is the first step towards peace.
And now, Trump has secured his third Nobel Peace Prize nomination from a foreign entity. A group of Australian law professors nominated the president for what they call the "Trump Doctrine." Legal scholar David Flint told Sky News Australia, “What he has done with the Trump Doctrine is that he has decided he would no longer have America involved in endless wars, wars which achieve nothing but the killing of thousands of young Americans and enormous debts imposed on America. He's reducing America's tendency to get involved in any and every war."
President Trump, who campaigned on the promise to “end endless wars,” is being recognized for his efforts. Flint continued, "What Trump did is he went ahead and negotiated against all advice, but he did it with common sense. He negotiated directly with the Arab states concerned and Israel and brought them together."
Flint also noted that President Trump is the first US president to ensure America is independent from oil in the Middle East.
Trump noted that while this nomination for the third time is a huge honor, the media will not give him the credit he deserves. Trump said, “Might as well mention this because it will never be reported by the Lamestream Media!” as he retweeted The “Trump Doctrine” earns President Trump a third Nobel Peace Prize Nomination! @LouDobbs.”
Why this matters: President Trump is campaigning on the slogan, “Promises Made, Promises Kept.” His words are not just to promote his own candidacy, but are a result of international leaders recognizing his promise to bring America out of decades of international conflict. Before the election, voters are able to see that President Trump has brought the country out of wars that cost taxpayer dollars billions of dollars. This will be important for his final push to win the White House once again.
