In an appearance on Tucker Carlson's show Wednesday night, New York Post reporter Miranda Devine revealed the identity of the most recent FBI whistleblower to be Special Agent Steve Friend. He has been with the FBI for 12 years and is a member of the SWAT Team.

Friend's accusations that the FBI was inappropriately reassigning January 6 cases from the Washington Field Office to local Field Offices to inflate claims of "domestic violent extremism" were revealed Monday when Congressman Jim Jordan (R-KY) sent a letter regarding the accusations to the FBI. Friend also claimed that he was “told that child sexual abuse material investigations were no longer an FBI priority and should be referred to local law enforcement agencies.”

He is the third FBI whistleblower to come forward with claims that the FBI pressured them to reclassify January 6 cases as domestic violent extremism when there was not enough evidence to support the change in classification.

As a father of two young children, Friend is most disturbed about agents being removed from child sexual abuse material investigations to be assigned to January 6 cases while the child pornography cases are referred back to local law enforcement.

Miranda Divine summed up the frustration Friend expressed to her when she told Tucker, "He just could not live with his conscience after he was dragged off this very important child porn, child exploitation, and human trafficking investigations he was working on and put on the very bogus January 6 cases he has been working on...He could see from the ground how the FBI Washington DC Field Office was manipulating these cases to try and expand and pretend the problem was bigger than it was. And he also didn't want to participate in SWAT raids on people who were being accused of misdemeanors at worst...Steve Friend stood up and said, 'I will not do this.'"

Jordan's letter to the FBI requested documents and communications related to Friend's accusations. The FBI and DOJ have not been very forthcoming with their responses to requests thus far.
