In the reversal of a policy put in place by the Amazon PAC after the January 6 riots in which it refused to give donations to Republicans who voted to block the certification of the 2020 election, Amazon is once again contributing donations to nine Republican representatives.

According to Federal Election Committee data, Amazon PAC has given funding to Representatives Darrell Issa (R-CA), Garret Graves (R-LA), Same Graves (R-MO), August Pfluger (R-TX), Mike Rogers (R-AL), Rob Wittman (R-VA), Stephanie Bice (R-OK), Tom Cole (R-OK), and Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL)

According to CNN at the time the donations were dropped an Amazon spokesperson said, "The Amazon PAC gives to congressional candidates on a bipartisan basis based upon the interest of our customers and our employees. Given the unacceptable attempt to undermine a legitimate democratic process, the Amazon PAC has suspended contributions to any Member of Congress who voted to override the results of the US Presidential election. We intend to discuss our concerns directly with those Members we have previously supported and will evaluate their responses as we consider future PAC contributions."

In a statement released regarding the reversal of the donation policy, an Amazon spokesperson said, "When we announced shortly after the attack on the Capitol in January 2021 that we would suspend donations to members of Congress who voted against certifying the results of the 2020 U.S. Presidential election, it was not intended to be permanent. It's been more than 21 months since that suspension and, like a number of companies, we've resumed giving to some members."

As mentioned by the Amazon spokesperson, the Amazon PAC was not the only company to stop political donations to Republicans following January 6. Intel, AT&T, and Cigna also cut financial ties with members of the GOP following the Capitol riots.

Amazon got massive new contracts from the U.S. military in August 2021 to build the space fleet and other advanced technologies. I'm surprised it took the company this long to lift its ban on donations to Republicans. https://inscribedonthebelievingmind.blog/2022/07/01/jupiter-meetings-july-2021/

Sorry Diana, Republicans had nothing to do with that. Democrats control the House, Senate and White House. check the money they got
