On Sunday, House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) sent a letter to Ron Klain, White House Chief of Staff, requesting the visitor logs for President Joe Biden's residence in Wilmington, Delaware, where numerous classified documents have been located.

In his letter to Klain, Comer wrote, "It is troubling that classified documents have been improperly stored at the home of President Biden for at least six years, raising questions about who may have reviewed or had access to classified information." The letter also indicated that Biden is now under investigation by both the Oversight Committee and the Department of Justice regarding his mishandling of classified documents.

Citing possible national security risks, Comer also raised questions as to why White House aides and Biden's attorneys have continued to search for additional classified materials at his Wilmington residence when it is likely that the aides and attorneys do not have security clearances.

Comer continued, "Given the serious national security implications, the White House must provide the Wilmington residence's visitor log. As Chief of Staff, you are head of the Executive Office of the President and bear responsibility to be transparent with the American people on these important issues related to the White House's handling of this matter."

"Biden's mishandling of classified materials raises the issue of whether he has jeopardized our national security. Without a list of individuals who have visited this residence, the American people will never know who had access to these highly sensitive documents," Comer added.

Comer's letter to the White House Chief of Staff comes after it was revealed that classified documents had been found in Biden's former office at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement in Washington, D.C., as well as at his home in Wilmington, Delaware.

It was disclosed on Saturday that additional classified materials had been identified in Biden's Delaware residence, bringing the total number of classified documents to about 25.

Comer's letter raises valid concerns that White House aides and personal attorneys for Biden should not be the ones searching the Delaware residence, given that the DOJ is investigating the matter. The letter also addresses the need for transparency with the visitor logs for the residence to determine "whether any individuals with foreign connections to the Biden family gained access to President Biden's residence and the classified documents that he has mishandled for years."

Klain has been asked to produce "All documents and communications related to the searches of President Biden's home(s) and other locations by Biden aides for classified documents" as well as the dates the searches were conducted, the names of the aides, and the visitor logs for Biden's Delaware residence since January 20, 2021. Comer has given Klain until January 30, 2023, to produce the documents.
