Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has slammed President Joe Biden’s southern border policy calling it a disaster.
Kennedy is appealing to “all Americans, of every part and political persuasion to face facts. President Biden’s loose border policy has been a disaster. It serves no one: not the migrants, not the nations south of the border, and not our own country.”
“We are in the midst of a humanitarian nightmare, an entirely unnecessary one of our own making. Conscience demands that we stem the tide of illegal immigration so that we can return to the orderly, lawful immigration that has brought so much dynamism to our country,” added Kennedy.
At the Thursday premier in Los Angeles of "Midnight at the Border," a 19-minute documentary film of Kennedy’s visit to the Arizona-California border with Mexico in June, Kennedy revealed how he would address this human trafficking and immigration crises if he successfully wins the 2024 presidential race.
According to a U.S. border official in the film, Kennedy is the second democrat to have visited that Yuma region. The first was democratic U.S. Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona.
After the premier, Mr. Kennedy took the stage and addressed the border crisis acknowledging that although he was initially against a “wall,” he is now convinced having seen the suffering and humanitarian crises first-hand at the border, America absolutely has more work ahead and that if America has no border control it does not have a country.
During his trip, Kennedy met with migrants, law enforcement, border patrol, farmers, health professionals, government officials, aid workers, community members, and others. One man who had traveled with his family told Kennedy that he had no idea where his 18-year old daughter was as he showed her picture to Kennedy and other border officials. She was somewhere in a detention center. He had no communication with her. On stage, Kennedy noted the Father’s concerns.
“This has been an extraordinary trip for me because I witnessed this dystopian nightmare of this uncontrolled flow of desperate humanity crossing the border and converging here because of misbegotten policies by high leadership of the United States and landing in Yuma, Arizona,” stated Kennedy.
“After visiting the border I’ve come to understand that the open border policy is just a way of funding a multi-billion dollar drug and human trafficking operation for the Mexican drug cartels,” added Kennedy. “When I am President, I will secure the border which will end the cartel's drug trafficking economy, and I will build wide doors for those who wish to enter legally so that the United States can continue to be a beacon to the world where diversity and culture make us great.”
Mr. Kennedy’s border policy will take address the following according to a campaign press release.
Kennedy’s practical policy will include controlling the border with technology with motion sensors, cameras, lights and ample well-trained personnel.
Kennedy estimated that there are “1.6 million immigrants living in the U.S. while they await their asylum hearings,” and claimed that “fewer than 15% will be approved” in the future and many of them are waiting seven years after their first hearing. Kennedy finds that enormous back log unacceptable.
As a result, Kennedy is hellbent on appointing “hundreds more judges to deal with this backlog…to ensure that newly arriving immigrants get a hearing before being admitted to the U.S.”
According to Kennedy, his position is that the cartels’ business model would “fail” if asylum seekers knew their cases would be heard “swiftly,” and hence, “specious claims would be met with swift deportation.”
Kennedy wants to work with the Mexican government “to stem the flow of transit migration” by cultivating “a more positive relationship with Mexico” and working with the Mexican government, whom he says “want to be free of the plague of cartel violence.”
Although Kennedy’s vision may seem ambitious, he now notes that seeing the border crises first-hand has shifted his position. It is an utter failure and has been not just under Biden, but under the Obama administration.
During the Obama administration the number of illegal immigrants had increased. During the Trump administration, the illegal immigration flow decreased as compared to Obama’s tenure, and then dramatically increased during the Biden Administration.
Kennedy also announced his “Good Neighbor policy” calling for the U.S. to “end its military adventurism and stop supporting despotic governments, juntas, coups, death squads, and repressive regimes that persecute and impoverish their own people.”
“We will stop opposing governments that seek land reform, labor reform, and social welfare for their people,” says Kennedy.
How does Kennedy foresee the execution of his policy?
"Cooperating with Mexico and Central American countries to improve economies and provide economic incentives to help build jobs and develop much-needed infrastructure and a better standard of living, so people will be motivated to stay in their home country and enjoy their natural culture and heritage. This development will reverse austerity measures and relieve crushing debts that create poverty and send millions fleeing north,” says Kennedy.

It is so rewarding to see a candidate unafraid to shift his thinking based on personal observation, honest conversations with people on the ground and real Facts over party narrative. This is highly unusual, especially among today's Democrat party. Bobby Kennedy is a treasure.
UNCLE TEDDY is to blame for MUCH of our immigration mess...
Ted Kennedy died in 2009. Your blanket statement is not historically accurate so in due time, I will write up another piece on the history of the US domestic and foreign policies that increased migration flows during both Obama and Biden administrations, which ultimately, increased human trafficking not just here in the US but abroad and do currently. History is important. I produced a series on immigration policy back in the 1980s when I was at CNN. History is important.
