The No Labels centrist political party will not run a third-party candidate for the 2024 presidential election, according to news reports Thursday.
“No Labels has always said we would only offer our ballot line to a ticket if we could identify candidates with a credible path to winning the White House,” Nancy Jacobson, the group’s CEO, said in a statement released to the Wall Street Journal. “No such candidates emerged, so the responsible course of action is for us to stand down.
No Labels has raised millions of dollars from donors for this effort and to get their ticket on state ballots.
A week ago, former US Senator Joe Lieberman who has been with No Labels from the beginning 13 years ago died.
The week before that former New Jersey republican governor was on a phone call discussing his nomination as a No Label presidential candidate.
The No Labels polls shared with Christie showed that a republican needed to be on the top of the ticket.
Parties on that phone represented to CDM that Christie was in, but something happened just days later when Christie told the press without even calling No Labels representatives first on the earlier phone call that he had changed his mind and announced that he was not running because he did not find that he had a path to victory.
