A 2013 Ithaca College graduate told his alma mater’s 2020 graduating class not to worry about what they were going to do next because those wearing suits in LA, DC, and NYC do not, and there “are no rules.”
Today, he is the Biden White House Director of Digital Strategy after the 2020 Biden presidential campaign and former Governor Terry McAuliffe’s (D-VA) last losing campaign.
His name is Rob Flaherty.
He belongs to the generation of 75-80 million Americans born after 1989, who never knew the real world pre-internet.
Flaherty is also one of the 67 defendants in a censorship lawsuit. The presiding judge in that case rejected the defendants’ Motion to Dismiss on Monday.
This week a federal judge has called into question what has gone on behind the scenes about the alleged collusion between the Biden Administration and BIG TECH to censor anyone who disagreed with the administration’s covid vaccination policy.
The Biden administration’s over-arching goal was to nuke any covid vaccination hesitancy. Period.
And, Flaherty’s emails demonstrate a keen sense of confident security even though it smacks of bullying social media executives.
Flaherty’s emails emerged January 6, 2023 during discovery in Missouri v. Biden, the case brought by the attorneys general of Missouri and Louisiana and four private plaintiffs represented by the New Civil Liberties Alliance.
On March 14, 2021, Flaherty emailed a Facebook executive.
“You are hiding the ball” with a link to a Washington Post article about Facebook’s research into “the spread of ideas that contribute to vaccine hesitancy,” wrote Flaherty.
I think there is a misunderstanding,” Facebook shot back.
“I don’t think this is a misunderstanding,” snapped Flaherty “We are gravely concerned that your service is one of the top drivers of vaccine hesitancy—period. . . . We want to know that you’re trying, we want to know how we can help, and we want to know that you’re not playing a shell game. . . . This would all be a lot easier if you would just be straight with us,” pushed Flaherty from the White House.
Interesting choice of words - “playing a shell game…”
A week later, the Facebook executive sent an email detailing the company’s planned policy changes. They included “removing vaccine misinformation” and “reducing the virality of content discouraging vaccines that does not contain actionable misinformation.”
Facebook promised to “remove these Groups, Pages, and Accounts when they are disproportionately promoting this sensationalized content.”
Flaherty demanded to know what they were doing to “limit the spread of viral content” on WhatsApp, especially “given its reach in immigrant communities and communities of color.”
Flaherty’s choice of words - “given its reach in immigrant communities and communities of color” are also very telling.
In mid-February 2021, this journalist listened into a White House Office of Faith-based leaders phone call that was not for the press.
During that conference call the White House asked for faith-based leaders to get married to black community leaders and unions - unnamed unions - to “host covid events” in churches because they are “places of trust in communities” to “validate covid vaccinations.”
From Flaherty’s emails, he certainly seemed to be towing the line.
On April 9, 2021 Flaherty asked Facebook “what actions and changes you’re making to ensure . . . you’re not making our country’s vaccine hesitancy problem worse.”
“In the electoral context, you tested and deployed an algorithmic shift that promoted quality news and information about the election. . . . You only did this, however, after an election that you helped increase skepticism in, and an insurrection which was plotted, in large part, by your platform. And then you turned it back off. I want some assurances, based in data, that you are not doing the same thing again here,” snidely wrote Flaherty.
Again, very transparent tone coming from the White House, and Facebook just fell in line.
“Understood,” was Facebook’s response as if replying to “the” boss.
Less than a week later on April 14, 2021 Flaherty wanted to know why “the top post about vaccines today” is Tucker Carlson “saying they don’t work”: “I want to know what ‘Reduction’ actually looks like,” Flaherty insisted as if there was an agreement for a “reduction” policy.
“…if ‘reduction’ means ‘pumping our most vaccine hesitant audience with [T]ucker Carlson saying it doesn’t work’ then… I’m not sure it’s reduction,” Flaherty snapped.
Nine days later, on April 23, 2021, Flaherty forwarded the Facebook executive an internal memo claiming it had been circulating throughout the White House.
“Facebook plays a major role in the spread of COVID vaccine misinformation” and accuses the company of, among other things, “failure to monitor events hosting anti-vaccine and COVID disinformation” and “directing attention to COVID skeptics/anti-vaccine ‘trusted’ messengers,” stated the memo.
To explain to Flaherty what steps Facebook was taking as if to justify to Flaherty and the White House that Facebook was on the same team with the White House to nuke vaccination hesitancy, Facebook on May 10 sent Flaherty a list of steps that Facebook had taken “to increase vaccine acceptance.”
“Hard to take any of this seriously when you’re actively promoting anti-vaccine pages in search,” sniped Flaherty, and linked to an NBC reporter’s tweet.
“Thanks Rob—both of the accounts featured in this tweet have been removed from Instagram entirely for breaking our policies,” responded Facebook sheepishly.
During this time frame, former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki and Surgeon General Vivek Murthy publicly called for holding social media platforms accountable if they did not censor those who disagreed with the Biden administration’s covid vaccination narrative.
On July 16, 2021, a reporter asked the president what his “message to platforms like Facebook.”
Biden replied, “They’re killing people.”
But, Facebook was not Flaherty’s only target. Google was also in Flaherty’s crosshairs.
In April 2021, Flaherty complained to Google about YouTube, which it owns, and accused them of “funneling” people into vaccine hesitancy.
Flaherty then boasted this concern was “shared at the highest (and I mean the highest) levels of the WH,” and required “more work to be done.”
Wonder if that was “the Big Guy” - Biden or Ron Klain, Biden’s then Chief of Staff. Curious minds really want to know.
Flaherty demanded to know what further measures Google would take to remove content that disagreed with the Biden White House’s end goal to suppress any information that created vaccination shot hesitancy.
In response, Google responded that they were working to “address your concerns related to Covid-19 misinformation.”
There is nothing better than impeaching someone with their own statements and documents in a lawsuit like this.
Flaherty works for the Biden White House. In these emails, his words seemingly exudes frustration, anger, and yes, tenacity. Also, a level of arrogance that in earlier generations would be laughed off and called on.
Alternatively, the social media companies seemingly swayed by his demanding directives pivoted to please a juvenile master.
As a result, the public was denied pertinent information that has caused harm because to date, the FDA has not officially recognized vascular and neurological injuries from the covid vaccinations - only the cardio injuries.
Americans and some media were silenced and de-platformed for speaking out a warning the pubic about early treatments and the Biden administration’s narratives.
But Flaherty was not the only one with the big stick attitude. Freedom of Information Act requests and Elon Musk’s Twitter releases have exposed those in power flipping the head on First Amendment rights.
Joe Biden clearly has pimped for PHARMA while Dr. Anthony Fauci thought he was “science” and played god with a little ‘g’ for PHARMA.
The Biden PHARMA regime expanded to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, NIH, NIAID, FDA, HHS and other agencies.
Too bad that Flaherty is too wet-behind-the ears to realize that under the US Constitution the government is barred from viewpoint-based censorship and coercing companies to do their dirty work on behalf of the government, whether it be for favorable political paybacks legislatively or for access to the Oval Office, or any other reason.
Only allowing Americans to be exposed to state-approved information on any issue smacks of tyranny.
America needs a Truth and Reconciliation Commission, but it needs to be far more accountable than Bishop Tutu’s in South Africa.
People need to be held accountable so these Constitution rips never happen again.
The 75-80 Americans born after 1989, who think this is a sane way to run a country, need to accept the fact this is tyranny even if they are too wet-behind-the-ears to understand it.
America has become a cesspool of corruption and falls flat on dignity and respect.
"I'm not joking when I say this: If you're ever working with me and I hear you treat another with disrespect, talk down to someone, I promise you I will fire you on the spot,” Biden told his staff when he swore them in to serve the country. "On the spot. No if, ands, or buts."
Guess that was another broken Biden promise early on in his administration as he dug in his heels for PHARMA tyranny.
