The World Health Organization (WHO) is investigating reports of South Korea patients testing negative for Chinavirus and ready for hospital discharge mysteriously testing positive again. Jeong Eun-kyeong, director of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, told a briefing that the virus may have been “reactivated” rather than the patients being re-infected.
The Geneva-based WHO, asked about the report from Seoul, told Reuters in a brief statement: “We are aware of these reports of individuals who have tested negative for COVID-19 using PCR (polymerase chain reaction) testing and then after some days testing positive again.
“We are closely liaising with our clinical experts and working hard to get more information on those individual cases. It is important to make sure that when samples are collected for testing on suspected patients, procedures are followed properly,” it said
According to WHO, current studies show that patients with mild Chinavirus (COVID-19) experience a period of about two weeks between the onset of symptoms and clinical recovery. But it remains unclear why these patients are testing positive after they were believed to have recovered from Chinavirus.
"As COVID-19 is a new disease, we need more epidemiological data to draw any conclusions," the statement added. That is another way of saying that the scientists have no idea why an infected person can test positive one day and negative the next and then positive again the day after that. If this reactivation of the Chinavirus is common in all infected people it would be almost impossible to use mass testing as a method of containing the spread of the contagion.
WHO is infamous for parroting CCP propaganda about the Chinavirus in the early days of what is now a global pandemic. They have been wrong on almost every recommendation they've made to world governments so the specter of a viral infection that can lie dormant in a carrier for days, or weeks (WHO knows?), and then reactivate should be viewed with some skepticism.
