Overall, it has been a very good week for conservatives. Another mega-donor leftist pedophile busted, new holes in Blasey-Ford's already tattered Kavanaugh story, disgrace for two New York Times journalists, the Prince of Wokeness Justin Trudeau exposed as a blatant racist and hypocrite, and infighting between Rep. Jerry "Captain Ahab" Nadler (D-NY) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, with the latter accusing the former of a "Moby Dick-like" obsession with impeachment. President Trump even signed a section of border wall.
Whenever liberals suffer this much, you can safely bet that they'll take it out on Trump in the immediate aftermath, and they have. New narrative: Ukraine.
Before we get to Trump's anonymous accuser...let's revisit the events of the week so far:
How does Dean Baquet still have a job? Yes, the executive editor of the New York Times has made a mockery of the Gray Lady, that's old news. But how is he still drawing a paycheck?
An audio recording of an NYT "internal town hall" hosted by Baquet was leaked to Slate last month. Among other damning comments, Baquet said, “We built our newsroom to cover one story, and we did it truly well." That story was, of course, 24/7 Russia. Not the hoax part, not the Obama DOJ wiretapping Trump 100 days before the election, not Fusion GPS (funding courtesy of Hillary Clinton). Just the baseless assertions smearing Trump, nameless "reliable sources."
Wednesday, after publishing a book by Times reporters Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly, "The Education of Brett Kavanaugh: An Investigation", the Times issued a retraction of sorts, an editorial note and correction to an article supporting the book release:
An earlier version of this article, which was adapted from a forthcoming book, did not include one element of the book's account regarding an assertion by a Yale classmate that friends of Brett Kavanaugh pushed his penis into the hand of a female student at a drunken dorm party. The book reports that the female student declined to be interviewed and friends say that she does not recall the incident. That information has been added to the article.
Pogrebin and Kelly have been anything but apologetic, claiming that editing technicalities likely led to the omission of the most salient piece of evidence in their blatant cash-grab of a book.
NYT editors didn't take kindly to being thrown under the bus, and retorted by saying they didn't feel that Pogrebin and Kelly's book was worth printing in the first place. It appears that Baquet has lost control of his newsroom.
Then it was Ed Buck. The wealthy Democratic donor is a close friend of Rep. Ted Lieu (D-HI), Adam Schiff (D-CA), the Clintons, and the Obamas. He finally ran out of Dead/Black/Overdosed Guest Passes, and was arrested in West Hollywood on Tuesday.
In another case of leftists eating their own, Buck will be charged with the deaths of the two victims, both of whom were gay and black, fueled in part by outcry from the Los Angeles LGBTQ community, as reported today in Out Magazine.
Hopefully he ends up in a more competently-run facility than the Metropolitan Correction Center that played host to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Christine Blasey-Ford of Kavanaugh hearing infamy has already been tarred by inconsistencies from a year ago. Her activist lawyer also admitted that she was motivated to put an "asterisk" next to Kavanaugh's name. On Wednesday, news broke that her former best friend Leland Keyser said, “I don’t have any confidence in the story. Those facts together I don’t recollect, and it just didn’t make any sense.”
If that wasn't bad enough, Leland told the FBI that Blasey-Ford's team threatened her with a smear campaign if she didn't fall in line. Sound familiar? That's because Blasey-Ford was accused a year ago of coaching a friend how to pass a polygraph (lie-detector test).
The bottom line on Canadian Prime Minister Justin "Tru-Day-O" Trudeau: he would have absolutely pilloried anyone who dressed up and/or performed for laughs in blackface as Trudeau did.
(Quick op-ed aside: Justin, you don't get to preach your virtue-signaling inclusivity on the world stage and confound our ears with PC-isms like "peoplekind" and then shrug it off when it turns out you're a serial blackface guy. It isn't "makeup," as you innocently claim. It's a statement. And to go onstage and perform a Jamaican dock worker song for a bunch of white people should be disqualifying. Hoping you get what you deserve in next month's election.)
Youthful indiscretion should be forgiven whenever possible. But this isn't teenage shoplifting or a joyride. It's not streaking the campus or getting busted smoking pot. It's not even youthful. Trudeau was 30 years old in 2001.
It's serial, performative racism from a world leader who promotes a leftist agenda. Trudeau should eat his crow and apply for another professorship as a drama teacher--it's his natural calling.
Thursday brought news of Democrat infighting, a war of wills between Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Trump hobgoblin Jerry Nadler. Pelosi is arguing for compromise on a number of fronts, Nadler wants vengeance for a lifetime of losing to Donald Trump.
In what world is Nancy Pelosi the voice of reason? Clown world, that's where. Comments from a closed-door meeting surfaced yesterday concerning the growing rift between long-time allies Pelosi and Jerry Nadler. Pelosi urged Nadler to drop his "Moby Dick-like" obsession with impeachment, telling all assembled, "You can feel free to leak this."
With support for impeachment steadily falling--37% of Americans favored impeachment based on this Politico/Morning Consult poll two days ago--it would seem clear that it's not in the public's interest. Moreover, political logicians claim that Trump, attacked from all sides before setting foot in the White House and every moment since, will be made into a martyr, securing an already strong grip on another term.
Perhaps Nadler should consider this passage from another famous New Yorker:
“It is the easiest thing in the world for a man to look as if he had a great secret in him.”
--Herman Melville, Moby-Dick
In the meantime, Dem mascot Pelosi is discovering anew how inelastic are the ideals of her grab-bag constituency. "Dreamers" united in protest...of Pelosi negotiating with the president. "All 11 million!" they chanted, drowning out the 79 year-old's attempts to explain the reality of politics versus imaginary entitlement.
So what's the blowback for all the bad optics and losing?
Democrats have proven time and again for three years--longer if you count the Obama administration's spying that started before the election--that they will do anything to defeat Trump's progress. So you knew that after a week that exposed Democrats' pedophilia, racism, perjury, libel, and monomania, they'd cook up something.
That something is an anonymous whistleblower (read: deep state actor) who claims to have heard something on what appears to be a telephone call between Trump and a Ukrainian official.
Here's the (Amazon) Washington Post's take on the matter:
Trump’s interaction with the foreign leader included a “promise” that was regarded as so troubling that it prompted an official in the U.S. intelligence community to file a formal whistleblower complaint with the inspector general for the intelligence community, said the former officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.
Note the lack of "allegedly" before "included." Also, the ubiquitous "anonymity." -Ed.
So. The blush is off the Russian rose, so why wouldn't Dems like Schiff create a story about Ukraine?"
Well...they are an enemy of the Russian state.
Further, if anyone has dubious dealings in Ukraine, it's...wait for it...Joe Biden!
Expect to hear A LOT of hollow bluster about Ukraine in the coming weeks. It's Dem cover fire.

Ed Buck has a lot of 'splaining to do! He's gone through endless hair micrografting procedures with Dr. Bosley and doesn't have much scalp left to reduce let alone scruff to harvest. I for one am tired of the endless prattle that comes after a round after round of poppers. Last time we partied together it went from Yadier Molina this to Buster Posey that. I can't understand how he has been able to do so much bundling with so much hatred for the Dodgers. Look what happened to Jamison R. Firestone, who is now a parapalegic suffering from Parkinson’s. The man can’t even tie his own shoes anymote. God Bless.
A Large Funeral Pyre to be Lit when the Democrats come crashing down in 2020.
