The Associated Press has called the Republican U.S. Senate race in Missouri for Eric Schmitt.
Schmitt, Missouri's current attorney general, ran against U.S. Reps. Vicky Hartzler, Billy Long, former Gov. Eric Greitens, and Mark McCloskey.
Schmitt defeated Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-Mo.), who came in second, with and former Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens, third, and the others trailing.
Former President Donald Trump endorsed “ERIC” on Monday without mentioning which one.
Both Greitens and Schmitt separately claimed that Trump endorsed had endorsed them.
The senate GOP primary poll numbers at one time had Greitens taking the lead, but his past scandal as governor plagued his campaign.
In the end, it was thought to be close, but on Tuesday morning, one republican insider told CDM.Press that Schmidt was expected to win, Hartzler coming in second and Greitens third.
