Air Force Academy Lowers Standards, Let's In Criminals...But Hey, We Have Diversity, Social Justice, And Great Football!

In another sick example of failed leadership at the U.S. Air Force Academy, this writer's alma mater, a second USAFA football player this year is being charged with serious drug crimes, including dealing. We have written often about the lowering of standards at USAFA and the other service academies in order to pursue the liberal dream of social justice, diversity, and the vast amounts of money that a leading division one college football team can bring.

This development is further evidence that Air Force has completely discarded entry standards and is no longer in the business of training warriors, but bureaucrats who can function in the social advancement military that Obama built.

Local Colorado Springs press is reporting the second U.S. Air Force Academy cadet this year is being charged with cocaine possession with intent to distribute.

Senior cadet Joseph Saucier will be tried on charges that he used cocaine and possessed the drug with intent to distribute, the academy said Tuesday, reported The Gazette in Colorado Springs, CO.

The Saucier trial, set to start Thursday, follows a September guilty plea from former Falcons running back Cole Fagan for cocaine use.

"It must be emphasized that charges are merely accusations, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty," the academy said in a news release.

"I came here to play football," Saucier told The Gazette last year. "I didn't come here to be a cadet. Sometimes I have to remind myself that being a cadet will help me be a better football player."

    So stunning and brave!

The latest charges involving football players come five years after the team and the academy were rocked by a scandal involving allegations of widespread misconduct on the Troy Calhoun-coached team, including drug use, added The Gazette.

Obviously there is a problem when criminals are routinely brought into the institution that is supposed to develop leaders of character that will lead our armed forces of tomorrow.

Air Force Superintendent Lt. Gen Jay Silveria famously virtue-signaled to the world in 2017, to the delight of the corrupt media, when he raged against racist graffiti on campus that turned out to be a hoax, planted by the supposed victim.

Tens of thousands of grads of this beloved institution are sick to their stomachs at the continued consequences of putting a 'progressive' agenda ahead of the Academy's basic mission -- train officers to kill people and break things at the will of the National Command Authority.

This development comes as West Point has also moved forward with also lowering standards to pursue a better football team.

These grads will bring their radical, SJW, ULTRA Leftist views with them when they mature and become the folks who run the AF. Alarming.

Saucier, yet another ghetto thug recruited to just play football. The Naval Academy did this a decade or so ago when they made a graduate who was also an NBA top recruit the 'mess officer' of a ship in drydock. College football has become the Triple A club for the NFL and only a fool would think otherwise.
Besides, why do the Academies even compete in NCAA sports? No academic reason for it other than the egos of the West Point Protective Association and the equivalents for the other service academies.

    Comments from an '86 grad...

Our Senior Class had the best Air Force Football Team of all time. 12 - 1. Ranked #5 in the country. Beat Texas in a New Years Eve Bowl Game. But no one on that team came to the Academy to play football. They all came to be Cadets, Air Force Officers and Warriors. At least 2 General Officers I know of that started on that team. Many decorated fighter pilots that flew combat missions in Iraq, Kosovo, Afganistan etc. Dick Clark still serving as a 3 Star General and will no doubt make 4 stars soon. Way too much shit to go through to attend a real Academy just to play ball. They can start by bringing back the real Academy experience and then let the guys wanting only to play ball go to their local college instead.

I live fairly close to West Point, and went to one football game years ago. It was fairly expensive then, and now even more so, but what gets me is, our tax dollars support the place, yet football tickets cost about as much as regular universities. It's like National Parks charging as much as Disneyland!

Interesting. It is the Air Force Academy that is very hostile to Christianity.

The mission of the Air Force is to fly and fight, and don't you forget it!
